TOOTH EXTRACTIONS
Although the dentists will use every measure to prevent tooth loss still sometimes a tooth extraction will be necessary.
Before a tooth is removed, the dentist will take an x-ray in order to understand the shape and position of the tooth and surrounding bone.
For a simple extraction, we will first apply a local anesthetic to prevent pain and discomfort. After the procedure we will provide you with care instructions to alleviate discomfort and ensure proper healing. Avoid anything that might prevent normal healing. It is usually best not to smoke or rinse your mouth vigorously, or drink through a straw for 24 hours. These activities could dislodge the clot and delay healing.
