Cosmetic and restorative dentistry include procedures to help you look and feel your best. In cosmetic dentistry, our goal is to improve the color, shape, and alignment of your teeth for an aesthetically pleasing smile. Restorative dentistry repairs damaged teeth to restore their original health or crafts suitable replacements for missing teeth following injury or decay.
Restorative procedures improve bite and chewing function, which makes it easier to maintain proper nutrition and better overall health. At Inspire Dental, our cosmetic and restorative specialists work directly with your regular dentist and orthodontist on a seamless care plan to give you a more confident smile.

Endodontics
Root canal treatment, also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy, is a treatment that allows us to treat the inside of the tooth while preserving the natural tooth itself. A root canal might be necessary when an untreated cavity reaches all the way into the pulp deep inside the root of the tooth, which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If we don’t remove it, the tooth gets infected.
Treatment may also be needed when deep restorations or trauma to a tooth cause nerve damage. Symptoms that indicate the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. However, sometimes there are no symptoms and you may be unaware of any problem until a checkup.
After we remove the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then we place a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger. Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!

Dental Crowns
A dental crown, also referred to as a cap, is used to entirely cover a damaged tooth. A crown not only protects the tooth, but it can dramatically improve a tooth’s appearance, shape and alignment. Crowns may be used to replace a large filling when there is little tooth structure remaining, protect a weak tooth from fracturing, restore a fractured tooth, attach a bridge, cover a dental implant, cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth, or cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment.

Dental Bridges
A bridge is one or more artificial teeth cemented into place using the teeth on either side for support. A bridge is an ideal method to fill the space created by missing teeth, and to restore the function and appearance of a full set of teeth. Bridge work is as much an art as it is an exact science since it replaces a missing tooth both functionally and cosmetically. The materials used may be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material made to match your natural tooth color. The choice of material depends on requirements for strength, wear, and aesthetics.
It is important that a missing tooth be replaced as soon as possible. If not treated, the teeth surrounding the gap begin to shift inward. Since teeth use their neighbors for support, if one is missing they begin to “fall” and shift into the open spaces.
