What to Expect as a New Patient
What to Expect as a New Patient
Inspire Dental Group is a locally owned practice with three state-of-the-art locations offering a full spectrum of dental services for adults and children. Our team of dedicated professionals is committed to providing our patients with compassionate care – the same care we would want for our own friends and family. Becoming a new patient at our practice is the first step to a lifetime of healthy teeth!
Here is what to expect prior to your first dental visit:
Once you schedule your appointment, you will receive a text to fill out new patient forms electronically. This form consists of your general information, insurance, and a health questionnaire. To save time, we recommend you complete this form before your appointment!
X-Rays from your previous dentist are encouraged. Please request they be sent to us via mail or email.
Here is what to expect the day of your first dental visit:
It is important to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time so we can ensure your information is ready for the doctor.
** NOTE – Minors MUST be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian for their first dental visit. **
When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our treatment care coordinators who will check you in and notify our team of your arrival. If you have not already completed the new patient paperwork, you will fill this out in our office. Please be sure to bring your insurance card as well as a list of any medications you are currently taking. If your insurance requires a co-pay, you will make the payment at this time. You can pay by cash, check, credit, or by debit card.
No insurance? No problem! With our Smart Smile Savings Plan we can make sure your bank account stays as healthy as your teeth. Learn more by clicking the link below:
We also offer CareCredit to pay for out-of-pocket expenses not covered by medical insurance.
Once our team is ready, your dental hygienist will escort you from the waiting room to one of our operatories where they will review your dental history, medical history, and any dental health concerns.
The dental hygienist will then conduct a dental cleaning and take digital x-rays for the doctor to review. The dentist will then come in for your comprehensive exam.
Your comprehensive exam:
The dentist will review your dental/health history, your x-rays, as well as any concerns you have mentioned to the hygienist. They will then perform an exam of your mouth and gums which will identify any issues such as gum disease or cavities. Based on this exam, our team will develop a personalized treatment plan if needed and will discuss your options with you.
Next steps:
After this initial visit, you will check-out with a treatment care coordinator who will answer any questions you have regarding your treatment plan and financing options and will schedule your next appointments. They will schedule your next cleaning 6 months out and an appointment with your doctor if any treatment is needed.
Scheduling appointments at the office is a great way to stay on track with your dental health! If you are interested, we will send you texts or emails to remind you of upcoming appointments.
